Some of our stock is NEW in WRAPPER , some new without the wrapper, and some are showroom models ( a very few have tee or ball marks ) that were returned to Callaway by different pro shops. Some showroom models have barely perceptible crown shelf-stocking marks, which are not visible at address, that might rub out. Oban is not your typical shaft company. Apart from and forum sales, you can only purchase Oban shafts through an authorized Oban dealer, and if the dealer is following the rules, only with a tip and grip installed.
You will occasionally find Oban shafts featured in higher end OEM offerings upgrade offerings like TaylorMade's Super TP series, but you won't find Oban shafts offered as a stock shaft offerings in anyone's lineup, and you'll NEVER have to wonder if an Oban-labeled shaft is one of those lower-quality, watered-down, made for variants that habitually plagues certain OEM offerings.

LOOKS, FEEL, AND MISCELLANEOUS
One of the things that I like best about theKiyoshiseries is that each shaft has a very distinct feel.The purple Kiyoshi kicks like mule with a black belt.Of all the shafts I’ve tested, I can’t remember one with this much pop; it’s almost enough to make you feel bad for the golf ball. Where the purple Kiyoshi is a pure mid-kick point shaft, the white has a mid-high kick point and thus a little less snap. The black Kiyoshi has the highest kick point which gives it the least amount of “kick feel.”
A “side effect” of these three very distinct feels is that the difference between stiff and X (04 and 05, in Oban terms) can be very big or very small. In the purple, the difference is very pronounced – the 04 has the big kick, the 05 is much smaller. In the white, the difference is noticeable but not enormous. The difference between stiff and X in the black Kiyoshi is only slightly noticeable.
Just as the feel of the Kiyoshi varies greatly from one model to the next, so do the looks. The graphics are identical in all colors: gold bands wrapping the “Oban” name and angry-looking faces above the branding. The colors, however, are what give the shafts their personality. The white is good looking, very trendy. The black is refreshingly black (not so many black shafts these days…I’ll call that the Fowler Effect).And the purple may be the single best color since Ozik’s candy lime.It's pure awesome.It’s one of a handful of shafts I want to play simply because it looks great.
Performance
Just as the feel is somewhere between the Purple and the Black, the performance of theKiyoshi Whiteis in the middle as well. It is billed as mid-launch and low spin on the OBAN web site. Interestingly, both myself and another tester found it to be the highest launching of the 3 Kiyoshi shafts. The reason that the White launched higher than the “high launching” Purple is that it did not promote as much draw as the Purple did. The spin from the Kiyoshi White was between the Black and Purple, though much closer to the Purple.
Most notable is the fact that theKiyoshi White was the most accurate Kiyoshifor our testers. I attribute this to the feel. With the Black, its easy to feel like you have to swing all-out which is rarely good for accuracy. With the Purple, though it’s consistent, some players felt that it just kicked too much for their taste. The in-between feel of the White allowed players to make smooth, aggressive swings at the ball which resulted in shots that ended up near the center line.
The GBB Epic Sub Zero Driver is a true paradigm shift: a powerful, low-spinning Tour-level driver that’s also incredibly forgiving — an unheard of combination. Its high speed / low-spin characteristics make it particularly appealing to Tour pros, yet it’s so exceptionally forgiving and easy to launch that a wide range of players will want to play Epic Sub Zero.
