After years of using graphite knock-offs (Leyland) and shooting in the 80s, I decided to switch to a brand name with steel shafts to get additional distance. After trying many of the brands I settled on the Slingshots. These did give me a little more distance (avg 5-10 yds) but I got dimminishing returns with the 6 to 3 irons. The same could probably be said for most of us weekenders! As a result I'm still using my hybrids. With the addtional mass (larger sole) I do see an increase in hitting behind the ball but at the same time taking shallower divots. I also don't agree with the claim "they're easier at getting the ball in the air". The one knock I have on the design, is the back forms a cup which will trap water. This is a bit of a nusance when cleaning them at the driving range. What was nice about this e-Bay purchase, I saved $200 compared to the demo set at the local golf store and $400 if I bought them new.Read full review
Bought these clubs after hitting my father in law's slingshit irons at the range. They are the most forgiving irons I have ever hit, they immediately took 12 strokes (at least) off my game. Not that I was shooting in the 80's or anything, I went from a 112-120 down to a 99-105. Huge sweet spot, easy to get in the air and easy to control. While used, the seller kept these in great shape. I am extrememly pleased with this auction.

This is a must read blurb for someone buying slingshots. I have owned many sets of irons, wedges, putters, woods and drivers. I am a 4.7 index handicap and i can definitevely say these are the best "overall irons". They can be faded and drawn but only slightly, if you are a good ball striker you will make solid contact 99% of the time. They are fun to hit and almost never give you the frustration of a bad shot. I played my second favorite irons, Titleist 690 MB for a long time and Yes the MB are great irons and allow alot more shot making capabilities BUT, also give you fits when you arent on your game. If there is one negative about the Slinghsots it is that the distances can be less than precise. PW for example can range from 105 yds to 120 yds on what feels like the same tempo and same contact, same ball position etc. Other than that small drawback the Slingshots are excellent irons.Read full review
There are only a few reasons to buy a set of irons, of all of them the most important is how well you hit the club. It really doesn't matter how much titainium they have or how they have 'super advanced' technology that practically hits the ball for you. The Nike Slingshot irons are easy to hit for most people out there. The ball launches on contact with a very nice sweet spot. I have let many friends hit my clubs and none of them have said they didn't like the way they felt or hit. I have used Ping, Cobra, and many other clubs but the reality of it came down to the fact that in the end the Nike's hit better for me than all of the above. I would never call myself an amazing golfer. I would say I only golf about 3 times a month and I will never be a 'scratch' or 'par' player. But these clubs make golf enjoyable.Read full review
The clubs arrived as ststed and in great condition. I have used them for a couple of months now and I haven't had a moment when I regretted the purchase. They are very forgiving and perform better than any I have ever hit. I would recommend the Nike Slingshot irons to anyone that is looking for a quality club that makes you look good even on off hits. I am currently a six handicap. My favorite club is the A Wedge. I use it for a variety of shots from about 80 yards in. The extra wide sole makes it as easy to hit off of a tight lie as a hybrid fairway metal. Nike also makes some of the best of these in their CPR clubs. The best place to buy these or any clubs is on EBAY. You can get exceptional deals and the length and lay of the clubs can often be adjusted locally for a minimal price. You will save a lot of money.
