We all have benefited from the advent of hybrids. The Ping G5 differs from the Ping Rapture. The G5 Aldila NV shaft is a little softer tipped than the Aldila Proto that they use in the Ping Rapture. I have had both and went back to the G5's because the Raptures were a little flatter and so I hit them to the right a lot, whereas the G5 appears to set up a little a little more upright. But, you have to be careful with the G5 Aldila NV shaft because if you try to muscle one, it will go wild. I actually liked the design of the Rapture better, and the shaft clearly is much better for a stronger player, but the flatness and the fact that they start at 18 degrees instead of 15 degrees did not work for me. The G5's on the other hand start with a 16 degree club. Have a good day.
A quality used club for $40. It complments my 19 degree hybrid and I have hit some good shots with it already.

I have played several fairway woods and each time its like a torture test. So why do I even bother? Most times I don't hit them well and often I simply end up in trouble. I usually shoot in the low to mid 90s. The PING G5 hybrid 19 degree is an excellent club when you need to get that 210 yards after a nice tee shot on a par 5. I have the Grafalloy Blue Stiff Flex shaft and I don't have to swing hard. I set it up in my stance as if I were going to hit my 8 iron. I take a full, easy swing and the club head does the rest. The ball flies straight and true towards the green. I have often used the club out of the rough and the small head cuts through the rough. Just choke down an inch on the club and take a good swing. Now I usually stand a good chance to put for birdie on those long par 5s and the long par 3 (200 yarders) are no longer a problem. I wish I had gotten this club a long time ago. So much money was wasted on clubs like the Cleveland Halo, Callaway Heavenwood and Taylor Made r7.Read full review
This is a golf club I purchased to go with my existing clubs, it is the right loft club for my use. It is not I love it, like it or dislike it, I am a golfer and it fits a yardage need for my game at a price I can readily afford. The club is as listed on ebay, in good condtion and I thought my bid price was right. The seller's shipping cost were reasonable as was the shipping time. I am happy with my purchase and the transaction, I don't know what more I can say about a Ping Utility Club.
What does a military base not getting a discount have to do with club performance? A shame that the review rating has been knocked down a few points by some pointless, irrelevant commentary. I'm actually bidding on a G5 19* hybrid club right now. I've demo-ed the 22* a few times and it's fantastic - I knew I had to have one (or two). Definitely lessens the negative impact of a slightly open club face. I feel like it could take 2-3 strokes off my game immediately. I'm a 37-year old beginner golfer (about 3 years) who's worked hard to get down to a 16. Those long iron shots often give me fits, and I just feel a lot more confident with this Ping in my hand instead of a 4-iron or a 3-iron. If I don't win this bid I'll keep going until I get one!
