OK so I'm a Driver junky in search of the best ever. And I never want to pay full price, because when I buy it, it may not work and I want to resell it on Ebay. The Taylormade SLDR 430 is pretty much it though - its definitely a keeper for me. I thought I'd found the best with the Titleist 910D2; and I still play one out in Portugal when we go. I've also got the Titleist 983K which I use in the wind and the winter and it is pretty much unbeatable with its 'low, boring trajectory'. And it was this club that led me to the conclusion that a slightly smaller head is the way to go. Not being prepared to stump up for the SLDR 460 a year ago, I bought a Taylormade R1 secondhand and it really worked. But I still hankered after the SLDR. I always read other players' reviews before buying a club. You can get some idea from the professional mags but its guys like me, playing week in week out off a similar handicap to my 17 who ultimately convince me. That's how I came to buy a Scotty Cameron Futura putter ("almsot like cheating"...) And that's why I finally plumped for the SLDR 430. I found a head only in the US on Ebay; shipped it; bolted it onto my R1 shaft and took it to the course. Stunning! I absolutely love it. Those in the know will tell you the 430 is better than the 460. I didn't need convincing because I also play a TM Mini Driver and a Cobra 'Long Tom' to great effect, not to mention the 983K of course. The adjustability is a must for me and I could never go back to a fixed club. I've got the Slider weight positioned for a slight draw on the 'neutral' setting; and I can jack the 12 degrees of loft up or down as needed, according to the playing conditions. It looks good in the dark grey finish, if you think white is old hat, and you simply cannot do better than the Aldila shaft (although I do have a Fujikura Motore F1 that works in my 910D2). So, for the foreseeable future I shall play the SLDR 430 in the summer and the 983K in the winter, until they wear out. Why would I bother buying any newer model. A friend of mine recently bought a Callaway X Hot and insisted it hit the ball 40 yards further than his last driver. "But that can't be true Jim, otherwise in 10 years time we will be driving 1000 yards..." In short, I don't believe the TM 430 package can be beaten. Driver technology hasn't got far since the COR rules were introduced - except for adjustability. So that's me sorted!Read full review

This is clearly the best purchase I've ever made. Hard to find a 12-degree driver, especially left-handed. This one is perfect, and in brand-new condition. Produces good loft and is easy to manage. Reasonably priced and beautiful club.

This is an iconic Taylormade T1 Driver and the price was very good and included free shipping. This driver revolutionized the adjustable drivers which are extremely popular today. The T 1 Driver is an excellent driver for the beginner or the long time player. Highly recommend this driver to anyone looking to replace their old driver.
Far fewer slices! I like it.
