I love this rangefinder. I have used several of these devices over the years and have had to update and download courses, but with this one, after doing an initial setup and download, it was ready to go. I have been to a different couple of courses and all I have to do is show up and it has the course located in a matter on minutes and is ready to go. Other devices I've used, I had to go to their site and download the course before I could use it. It clips on my hat brim, with one touch of the button it gives me a distance to the center of the green and a little longer touch, gives me distances to front, rear and back. I also like that it talks to me. Some rangefinders are hard to see on their display especially in bright sun, but this one talks and is right there on my hat, not in the cart.Read full review

It worked for about a month. Then the yardages were waaaay off, like 15-25 yards! My buddies had different brands, and they were right on the money. My league partner bought one the same time I did...same result. Piece of crap.

The unit is compact, rechargable and easy to use. The tiny manual requires a microscope to read, but you can go to golfbuddydotcom and download a full size version in .pdf format that you can print out. You don't have to download most courses because they come preloaded. You don't have to specify the course - the Voice 2 figures it out from your GPS coordinates. While it gives the distance to the front, middle and back of the green, it doesn't tell you the distance to common impediments, such as fairway bunkers, ponds or streams. Another useful feature is the ability to measure the length of your drive or fairway shot. Finally, you can invert the screen depending on how you clip the unit to your hat, pocket or belt.

As one newer to the sport of golf, I find know the distance is a BIG help in selecting the right club once off the tee-box. I like that it's small and more discrete than using a rangefinder or cell phone to find the desired distances. Battery life is more than adequate and it's very easy to use.

Pretty much does things automatically. Keep directions close for the few things you might need to do or change. I am very pleased with mine. It does not give info to hazards but is simple, basic, and no annual membership fee required.
