Is this a nice golf club? Sure. Do I like it? Yes. Would I buy it again? Yes. Do I REALLY think it will make me play better golf??? No! I've played golf long enough to know that it's the person swinging the club, not the club that makes you play better. Yes, the new technology gives you a better sweet spot, but to be honest, I hit drives 250 yds with my old no-name driver and with no surprise I'm hitting the same here. I will say that this driver sure does look a lot nicer than my old Warrior Custom golf driver that I was using! :)
Bought the SL290 to try a lightweight club. I've used the club for a couple of rounds and increased my drive distance by 20 yards- reaching out to the 310 to 315 range! I went with the stiff shaft to keep the ball from spraying right. The nice part about the lightweight design is that you can get the extra distance while reducing your swing effort. The only issue (very minor) is that the sticker on the bottom of the head is starting to peel off after two rounds of golf.
I've played at least a dozen rounds of golf with my new driver, but please remember that this winter is an exception in Iowa. With the weather colder, I am not sure how far I will hit this driver this Spring and Summer and the Driving Range is closed so I am still figuring out how to get the best results; but I really like the weight of the club - so much easier to swing than my Taylor Made R9. Going to Florida next week....so hope to figure out my swing to keep the ball a little straighter at the finish of the flight compared to my R9 - but great club for us Seniors.
This club replaced an older Cleveland Launcher 12* senior flex driver and was very easy to his the first time I played with it. This driver is probably the lightest driver I have played with and it feels and hits great.

I am a 44 year old 12 handicap and my average drive carry's about 230 yards, my driver has the 9* head and Miyazaki 43S Stiff flex shaft. The club face seems to be hot and the ball jumps off of the face with a good trajectory, my only draw back is the face is somewhat closed and I don't need any help going left. All in all I think it is a great driver for mid handicappers as long as you fade the ball and don't swing over 105(anything faster and the shaft is a little weak and harder to control).
