The Mizuno MP 59 iron is absolutely the best iron I have ever played. Mizuno is noted for quality and feel and it's manufacturing process is second to none. The feel of the ball strike on this iron is uniquely pure and the ball releases like a rocket. You can lay back a bit with this iron and also goose it to get another few yards. I have had to adjust to the extra yardage I get. The head size makes it a true players iron but I have had friends who are higher handicaps hit these and fall in love instantly. You can work these irons easily and hit knock downs or pitches that check. I have had Ping and Taylormade blades and these are superior in every way. I am convinced Mizuno is the best iron manufacturer as the feel, quality and workability of these clubs is second to none. My friend had the JPX Pro irons and the feel in those is excellent also. Get fitted with the right shaft and enjoy these clubs for years - and work with them and see your handicap drop! Golf is about confidence and these clubs inspire!Read full review
After returning to the game after a 7 year hiatus, I found that the changes in golf equipment was surprising. Everything seems to be made to "help" the golf and pander to individual swing idiosyncrasies. I played with a set of Tayormade R9 irons which were a set for me returning to the game but I found my development hampered by their "forgiveness". It was deadening; both the good and bad. After much research, I decided to try the Mizuno MP59 irons with the promise of precise engineering designed to be solid tools providing great feedback by letting you know the good ball contact from the bad immediately. They are buttery and pure when struck solid and provide feedback when mishit. Many reviews highlight that the MP59's are not forgiving and tough for a high-handicapper. I would disagree in principle. They certainly don't hide swing deficiencies but they don't sting when mishit. I used to play with Callaway X12 irons and after a bad round with lots of miss-hits, my hands would hurt and I had to protect against tendonitis in my elbow. With the MP59's and even after a tough round, my hands never hurt and my elbows and shoulders feel great despite being almost 10 years older. The MP59's are fine crafted and expert engineered tools and do exactly as asked. My game has evolved by leaps and bounds since I started playing with them. It is almost impossible not to shape shots with them and easily hit fades, draws and straight shots. Because they react so precisely to your swing, I find myself becoming a more precise golfer; having to both thing and swing with purpose. Distance and trajectory are both consistent and controllable and my knock-down shot is back which was almost impossible to the R9 irons. The feel of a well hit shot is priceless and addicting. The MP59 irons are fashioned from a soft-alloy which feel wonderful and buttery but do easily nick and show bag-chatter almost immediately. The soft metal is just another sign that Mizuno was uncompromising in the design and chose the alloy to promote playability and not durability. A choice I applaud despite acknowledging that I will likely have to replacement them after a couple years of play. I am slightly saddened by the direction the bulk of golf equipment is being designed; like putting traction-control in a race car. Mizuno chose to go a different way with the MP59 irons and simply made a better race car; powerful and a little dangerous.Read full review

As a new golfer having just completed my golfing lessons and getting into the game. My instructor advices that I'm on the level of a two year experience golfer - - some natural ability I suppose. I have all the confidence in the world in my Mizuno MP59 MP Iron Set 3-PW Extra Stiff Dynamic Gold x100 Steel Irons. The feel and grip is awesome and the response of the clubs are equal to the feel. I plan to stay with the Mizuno clubs for as pong as I play the game. I know Mizuno makes more expensive irons and I plan on upgrading in the future as my game skillset increases, but for now I'm completely satisfied with these irons.

Great clubs. Tested them for the first time while thebmizuno rep was there ironicslly. Tried some of thebnew models and thesr felt way better thsn any of the 2016 models. Great feeling when you get it flush but your gonna pay for off center hits like any blade. The insert definitly gives you a bigger sweet spot, but it's still a small forged head, you gotta hit em pretty much on the button, and if you do its like a knife through butter. Csnt wait to hit em on the course tommorrow.
