And, I don't know if I do. I'm a slightly above average ball striker, but, I prefer the look and feel of a forged player's iron. Truthfully, I hit these farther than the game improvement set I had for close to a decade (Titleist 775). The feel is soft when hit flush. The clubs are more forgiving than they let on. The forging is beautiful- these almost look like jewelry in the bag. I hit these better, and though they're not geared for me specifically, they work. And that's all that matters.

First off, I am a 3 handicap and I play a lot of golf. I am 43 years old and I play tournament golf. I am not rich so when I wanted to replace my Hogan's I looked at the Mizuno's and the Titleist, but I could not pull the trigger because of the cost. I have a set of 1967 Wilson blades and have always been a fan of Wilson (my first baseball glove was a Wilson), so I checked out their post fat shaft clubs and ran across the fi5's - I bought them on Ebay for considerably less than the other brands. My clubs have the S300 Dynamic gold shafts. I sure am glad I did - these clubs have helped my game immensely - they produce a penetrating ball flight, working the ball is easy, they look great, and they fit right in with all the Mizuno's and other high end brands. These are NOT a game improvement club - you need to be able to hit the center of the club consistantly. But if you can, the club is very rewarding. The lofts are tad strong, but not as bad as the huge cavity back game improvement clubs. The paint comes out pretty quickly (I don't really mind). The full cord grips are excellent, but I prefer them - I know some don't care for them. Overall, the quality is excellent, the price is awesome, and your group will comment on how pretty they are. My advice - Buy'em!Read full review
I'm a 10-12 hcp and want to play forged irons. I have Titleist and Callaway forged they play well. But these FI5 irons out play them hands down. I have the S 300 so the shaft is fine. I agree with most that Wilson was the premier manufacturer in the past and his now making a comeback. (I don't know of any irons they make better than the FI5. It easy to hit the LONG IRONS 3 and 4 (not even used to that)I also have the Di11 w/half and half they look good in the garage, cause the Fi5 is so easy to hit. no chance of these coming out of the bag... Solid feel even on mishits (thought about the sensicoreS300 shafts but don't need to change..
Lightweight, easy to hit with. I think a starter golfer get everything which is necessary to improve the game further.

It's timeless American forged! A lot of people still use Wilson blades for very good reason - the design and feel of it is timeless. It hits a little harder than Mizunos, but still feeling is very soft. Plus, it is definitely much more durable. The progression works better than old Progressive from 90's. Actually, I found up to 5 iron easy enough to go full swing. 3 and 4 are harder. I suggest using hybrid clubs as replacement. Chipping and pitching is unreal. I never been good at this part of the game with Mizuno MX-20's. The game improvement may make it easy to hit, but certainly takes away touch and feel. I got so many kick ins with these that my score actually improved on harder courses. The ball flight is relatively low and requires pretty decent amount of practice. I can't believe how cheap Fi-5 are on ebay. It's silly to pay double for Miznuos and Hogans. Use the saving for some coaching instead. You won't regret it.Read full review
