I purchased this club because the launch monitor numbers told me I needed more backspin, and a higher launch. I got both with this club, as well as the added distance from using the best fitting club. This club packs as much power as any of the new models without the high price tag. It also has more shot correction built in than most. The only problem I have with this club is the goshawful sound at impact. You just have to weigh the value of the maximum distance achieved with an awful sound.
I always thought that most reviews that said how many strokes they took off their game with a new driver was BS. I was amazed that after trying five different drivers in the last year since I started playing golf I was able to lower my average score at least 5 strokes. The important thing is that for the first time I feel almost as comfortable with the driver as I do with my 5 iron! I was having issues with consistency and I had a slice most of the time when hitting the ball hard. Since I can take a swing much like an iron I hit the ball much more consistently with this driver. For some reason now I don't have to place the ball even with my left ankle. I can place it about two balls width towards the middle and that allows me to swing similar to my irons. When I did that with my other drivers I hit a really bad slice. Now I look forward to the driving range almost every day!. For your info I’m only 5"5 and I did not have to cut down the driver as I normally did with other drivers. I am hitting the ball about 240 to 250 with this driver but that is about the same with other drivers just that now I hit it straighter. This driver is much louder than most others I used but I actually like the sound. It makes me feel like a big man! :) I just hope if you buy based on this review it does the same for you.Read full review
Best blade style putter I have used. Cheap on price but brilliant on performance. Have been using mallet style for years because of inconsistency with blade putters but this is as reliable as a mallet. Sure you need to take extra care when lining up but easy to go straight back and straight through with this one. Distance control is very good, I can hit harder for long distance without the worry of a rocket. Like the golf reviews say the ball comes off the face nice and smooth with feel and I have not noticed mishits at all in several rounds. If looking for a blade putter this is a serious contender.

I was never a fan of this club because of it's appearance and the sound it makeswhen it strikes the ball. I have several friends who have different models of the HiBore driver and they all hit the ball very well. After struggling with my current driver nearly all this season I purchased this one. I'm beyond pleased. Just for reference this year I've been a 17 hdcp mainly due to my inability to hit fairways with my driver. I've played 3 rounds with this driver and have averaged 8 over par. This club is a definite keeper.
I previously used an older model TaylorMade 540XD before my ex sold my gold clubs during our divorce. After two years of not even swinging a club I decided it was time to get back into golf. Upon reviewing the golf digest hot list I decided to get the Hi-Bore XLS due to it's reported forgiveness. I'm a extremely high handicap golfer and consistency has always been a problem. Maybe 1 drive out of 3 games was good, but when I tested this club at the range 95% of my strikes were straight, high and long (250+). A few mis-hits were still fairly straight and traveled almost 200 yards still. I would definitely recommend this product for someone interested in a forgiving driver that can still go the distance.
