I had been playing a set of knock-offs copys of this club for year's and always hit them really well, AT that time a didn't think there could be alot of differance in knock-offs and real pings, But there is I gained around 10 yards per club going to the real deal, I figure anyone buying these clubs have played with them before. being that there prety off the New golf market now, I think ping has around 8 newer sets of clubs out now, SO I will save all the how great they hit stuff, I have done Demo's on all but the new G-10 line of pings and found that I stiil like these the Best, and didn't see where I gained any yards with any of pings newer clubs, not counting the G-10s, but if your thinking about upgrading from a set of copys are hating to pay the price of the new pings that are out, then I think you will be well happy with these, and if you a new golfer then you will have one of the Best to learn this crazy Game with, LOL Good Luck and keep them in the fairways,Read full review
Bought this Ping i3 O-size 8 iron as a fill-in while my G25 8 iron was being repaired. It was not only a great fill-in- I searched & bought a set of these as a 2nd set! Even though these are older in years, they were way ahead of their time! Love them almost as much as the set I was fit for!
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
One of my golf buddies found a set of Ping i3 O-SIZE irons at a thrift store in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The price was an astounding $2 per club!Yes - TWO DOLLARS! Of course, he bought them, who wouldn't right? Well, it was almost a complete set - the eight iron was missing. He did not own a computer, so I volunteered to find the eight iron for him. I found it (at a great price) on eBay. It was delivered in a very timely manner and was as good as new. He couldn't believe that I was actually able to find it for him online. He is 67 years old and now I'm helping him learn how to use his new computer!!
The club is in very good condition and strikes the ball cleanly. I can hit into strong winds with accuracy and reasonable distance - the key being straight shots - no slice !! It's great off the tee box where the fairways are slim and accuracy is needed more than raw distance. I would reccomend the Ping 1 iron to any golfer wanting these kinds of results.
came home from work to get ready for Men's Night and my wife said that my club came in. Great! So I grabbed it still in the box and went to the course, no time to take it out of the box so I thru it on my golf cart along with my Bag and Buddy. on hole # 4 my Buddy finally took it out of the box for me, (What a Guy) Hole number 5 is a Par 3 170 Yards and we were into the wind, I grabbed the Ping I3 4 iron fresh out of the box, set a ball on a low tee, took one swing and stuck it 4 FT from the pin and made the birdy put on a hole that I never birdy. So I think I'm going to call Tobey Keith have him right a new song...I love this Club!
