I've had good luck so far in purchasing on ebay. My TaylorMade clubs are real and I love them, sellers all had thousands of sales with at least 98.0% feedback. However, even with that I would never purchase from anyone who posted a blurry photo...I don't care how good there feedback is. Sellers that are responsible and in the business for the long term all own a good camera and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work them anymore, point and click. Power Sellers with great feedback are the way to go. Stock photos are difficult so the seller has to have been at Ebay for a few years along with the sales and feedback. Ebay should monitor this and help themselves avoid claims. Blurry photo's, you should have to pay the fees, but your listing gets removed, seller banned (until of course he gets a new name and pulls the same thing). Good luck all.Read full review
Bought the R7 CGB irons on eBay. Definitely a game improver for me. Registered the irons with TM. A year later, the 4-iron graphite shaft splinters. A TM dealer sends it in for me; TM says it's a fake. These irons look like all the pictures and perform well; as long as they don't keep breaking, I'm not that disappointed. Just be aware that registering your clubs means absolutely nothing as to authenticity. Added later: Don't believe that you can look at your irons and tell if they are fake; mine pass every test I've read about on this review board. The only way to know for sure is to call TM to verify the serial number on the 7 iron. 866-530-8624 6AM-5PM PT
I also recently purchased a set of r7 cbg max irons 3-sw graphite that turned out to be fakes. I took these clubs to the local pro shop for authentication. They were so perfect that we almost couldn't see a difference when compared side by side. These 99.999% fake clubs did have some differences which I will list: the embossed RAC letters on the hosel were yellow instead of no color, the stripes on the black plastic finial are wider apart, the circular milled finish on each of the tungsten weights is larger, the fakes are are approximately 1 inch shorter (sorry didn't measure exactly), and last but not least the serial number on the 7 iron didn't match the set discription from Taylormade. Taylor said my set was supposed to be 5-LW steel shafts not 3-SW grafite. According to Taylor these counterfeit manufacturers are stealing serial numbers from display clubs in pro shops and putting them on their clubs. I suggest to anyone interested in purchasing one of these sets is to email the seller for the serial number so you can call Taylor before bidding. Good LuckRead full review
Let me start off by saying that I am a 7 handicap golfer and wasn't really sure if these game improvement irons would be what I was looking for in an iron since the traditional line of thought is to get a set of irons designed for low to mid handicaps when you reach my handicap. I took a chance and bought them and have not regretted it for a second. The ball launches high off the club face, fly straight as an arrow, and are about 10 to 15 yards longer per club than my Cobra 2300 I/M irons. Even mishits get good distance. I have had problems with my old set hitting my 4 iron, I even gave up on it and got a hybrid. I don't use the hybrid anymore after hitting the CGB Max 4 iron. It is the easiest long iron to hit that I have ever tried. The only thing that some may not like, but is not really a problem for me, is that there really is no feedback from the club when you hit a good shot. In fact, there really isn't much of a feeling to me at all. However, I take this as feedback, because you can feel the mishits, and when you hit it good and don't feel it, that's feedback to me. I would recommend this iron really to all handicap levels. It has boosted my confidence, distnce, and accuracy and I think it would do the same for anyone who gives these irons a shot.Read full review
The clubs were in great condition. Took them out a couple of times and they feel solid. When I got them, one of the clubs had caked on mud as if it was used in the mud and then packaged immediately after usage. After cleaning, I saw that it was in good condition. The other clubs were relatively clean. One of the extra clubs (RAC 52 deg.) was pretty damaged but I didn't need that one anyway. There were no major issues with these clubs. Overall I am please with this purchased.
