This was listed as used and the price was a bargain and I was most pleasantly surprised to find it was, for all purposes, 98% brand new. No scuffs, scrapes, sky marks, virtually pristine: only the included head cover being faded can betray its age. It has a great feel and is a titanium 3 wood, Taylor Made having made both Ti and Steel versions and I find the Ti version preferable as it has a similar weight like a Ti driver. Usually, I have to replace a grip on any club several years old but, again, this is the exception. Sometimes, a used club has a surprise and usually, it's not pleasant but this surprised me as being almost unused, a nice surprise.

I have for many years had the 3 wood version of this club and have always hit it very well, often choosing it as opposed to my driver. It's my go to club off fairway lies and in rough. In fact, given the price of this used club as opposed to more recent Taylor made models, I'm not alone in thinking this was a good year for woods from Taylormade. Getting the 5 wood tightens the distant gaps between my hybrid and long wood. So far, I'm not disappointed.

I have a TaylorMade R7 driver, but I had been using some cheap 20 year old fairway woods. This club is a great upgrade to those. Easy to hit, good distance, accurate.

Like I said, weight feels off to me coming from a full mallet but the club is great and I just need to get used to it. Very cool that the shaft is graphite so it is a bit more forgiving on the hands.
