Wife has set of hibore irons, loved them so much she needed a matching driver. She is now a Cleveland fan and has given up her Callaway driver and irons. She recently began to struggle with her callaways and decided it was time to try some clevelands that happen to be available for a demo day at her course. Likes the Hibore XLS offset draw 9 degree driver, reg flex gold shaft, and finds she can hit the hibore straighter more consistently with gains in distance on average. For her, this driver is more forgiving as they have advertised. The driver has a unique shape and sound and overall, because of its performance compared to her FT-5, she has converted to Cleveland all the way. She is very happy with the driver and recommends that others at least try the driver if they are having trouble with drives. Dshabby.Read full review
Like the rest of the Cleveland line of clubs the Hi-Bore XLS is clearly a quality fairway wood. From the moment I picked it up I was able to tell that it followed in the footsteps of my Hi-Bore driver. Clean lines make it a pleasure to look down at during address. Perfect weighting and balance make it effortless to get a clean shot. And the location of the sweet spot makes it nearly impossible to hit it anything but pure. I bought this wood for two reasons; first and foremost I was able to hit literally every club in my bag other than my old Sonertec. And secondly my favorite club in the bag is my Hi-Bore driver. I gained some 10 to 20 yards when I put this club into my bag and was placing myself into position to reach par 5's in two. If only I had a fairway 3 wood that I could hit with consistency. Trouble was my Hi-Bore was SO much bigger at address than my old 3-wood that it caused mishits. Now I realize that this might have just been in my mind but my 5 wood was oversize and I pure it nearly every time. Clearly I needed to try something different. The Hi-Bore XLS, while "old tech", is anything but. The modern looks almost perfectly match my driver and because it is nice and large there is immense confidence when I step up to the ball about to send it flying. The club makes that same powerful sound at contact and a power draw is almost effortless. The standard grip and shaft are high tech and high quality and leave nothing to be desired. The end result is par 5's being reached in two, a nice solid full confidence in all of my clubs, and a nice addition to my bag. Best of all for under $100 I managed to purchase a club that is in pristine condition, grip, face, and all. I don't think the one I bought was used more than a couple of rounds! If you are looking for affordable new technology that will enhance both how well you play and how much you enjoy it, consider Cleveland. No, I don't work for them. (My irons are Cobra SSI's that are about 5 years old now and I putt with a Scotty - play to a handicap of 11 right now) But even if this is an unpaid endorsement I can honestly state that you will not be disappointed if you step up to this one. As Drew used to say...Cleveland Rocks!Read full review

I am 7 handicap. I had a Tour Edge/Exotics 3 wood that was extremely long and straight; I sometimes found it a little touchy to hit cleanly. I was using Cleveland hybrids and so I tried the XLS 3 wood, stiff shaft, low trajectory. Extreme comfort! Hard to miss a shot. Not quit as long, but soooo comfy. Pure confidence.
