I've had the G80 for 2 weeks, 2 rounds and 2 range sessions. On the range, it's awesome. Very easy to use. Love the fact that you do not have to change a club setting on the device when you switch clubs. Seems pretty accurate, but I am not a pro. Target practice, warm up and virtual rounds are more fun that I thought. Over the 2 range sessions only didn't read 2 shots, but they were bad, lol. On the course seems very accurate and easy to use also. Battery life. I haven't let the battery go down all the way, but after 1 round and and the driving range the battery was down to 50 percent.

This is very accurate device and it's GPS features are very useful on the golf course. I was surprised by the clarity of the display under bright sunlight. The launch monitor is very accurate giving you precise information about your performance with every golf club in the bag. However, there is a major flaw in this very expensive unit. It lacks the capability of keeping tract of your performance with every club. You cannot save the information for each club and, thus, cannot follow your progress over time. There are various devices available that can do that and for a lot less money.

This is an amazing little device, smaller than an iPhone C. I bought it for the launch monitor feature as I was debating between the Sky caddie and this was not only $100 cheaper it had the added benefit of Garmin's catalog of courses. Additionally most YT reviews stated it was the more accurate of the two. It's been a great addition to the range sessions and after buying a new set of irons this year greatly improved my ability to hit my distances. Knowing the carry and roll out is something I've never had anything better than a guess before.

The G80 is very easy to use, relatively small, but the numbers are easy to read, especially here in Arizona where the sun is really bright. My brother has a Bushnell range finder and the Garmin reads about the same as far as the yardages go. I play in a golf league that uses a shotgun start and the G80 is very easy to change holes. I, also, think it would easily last through two rounds as when I play there is about 70% battery life left after the round. I usually leave it in the golf cart, but it fits nicely in my pocket and I, also, have the case with the clip that can clipped to your pants pocket(or belt), if you like. And it has a scorecard that is easy to use as well. So far the only con I have is that it does take a bit for it to start up, but that has not been a problem. Works very well and I like it very much.Read full review
