TaylorMade’s Burner irons have been one of the better selling irons with their grouping of distance and ease of use making them especially popular with high handicap golfers.

The faces of the new Burner 2.0 short irons are actually thicker than the original Burner’s as well allowing for heads that are smaller and highlight thinner top lines. This allows a greater importance on accuracy and control at address as well as putting more weight directly behind the ball.

The faces of the Burner 2.0 long-irons are thinner than the faces of the first Burners which helps golfers create more ball speed and distance. The weight saved by having the faces thinner has been redistributed to the bottom sector of the clubs, near the heel and toe areas which adds to the forgiveness.

The badge on the back of the new Burner 2.0’s has a softer material integrated with the aluminum which gives it enhanced dampening properties while managing vibration and improving the sound. In addition to the badge, on the back of all the Burner 2.0 irons there is a circular piece of metal that is known as TaylorMade’s Inverted Cone Technology (ICT). The ICT has a slightly different shape and was moved slightly in the longer irons in order to ensure the clubs can deliver faster ball speeds. The soles of the short irons are also thinner than the long irons because golfers swing a 9-iron more vertically into the ball while many players sweep the ball using a flatter swing when hitting a 4-iron.

The eight iron shafts are designed to flex in a slightly different area, allowing the long irons have a lower kick point to help players get shots higher while the short irons have a higher kick point to encourage a slightly lower trajectory.
