10 Shell Wampum beads, Iroquois Fur Trade Ontario Co, N.Y. artifacts Pa. N.J.,Md:
$77.00

This is for the lot of ten Native made shell wampum beads in the photo. Includes both white, and the rarer purple color. The photo was taken with the beads wet to highlight the color. Due to age they have all faded, when they dry they won\'t be this brilliant color when you receive them. Just to let you know. They will return to the faded white color. But there\'s white, purple, and even a few more yellowish colored ones. These have been cleaned and the holes are open. For historic bead collectors, good original wampum is getting harder to get, most of the NY sites are now off limits to collecting. Beware of fake imported wampum, this lot of beads is GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC for life, and GUARANTEED as described. These were found by, and are from the original Harry Schoff collection, collected in the 1930s. ( These are from 1937 ). From the Boughton Hill Site, ( Ganondagan ) Ontario Co., N.Y. ca. 1650 - 1687. Note: For bead collector information, most of the Indian wampum traded after about 1725 were mostly European made, but still authentic. Wampum found on sites prior to 1700 were Native made from the Quahog ( purple and black beads ), and Whelk shells ( white beads ).
